  • We collect what we need to run your account and save your business planning work.
  • Your ideas, plans, notes and check-ins are private to your account. We don't sell your information or use it for advertising.
  • Card details are handled by Stripe and Link. We never see or store your full card number.
  • You can ask us to access, correct or delete your information at any time.

1. Who we are

Evolve Business Starter Kit is provided by Charlene Denise King, a sole trader trading as Evolve Business Co (ABN 96 334 942 811), based in Australia (“we”, “us”, “our”). This policy explains how we handle personal information when you use the Evolve Business Starter Kit website and app. Our customers live in many countries, so we've written it to meet common international privacy standards as well as Australian law.

Questions or requests: charlene@evolvebusinessco.com.au.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us when you create an account

  • Your first name, email address and password. Passwords are stored in a secure, scrambled (hashed) form, so we can't see them.
  • Your country, which we use to tailor registration, tax and legal tips.
  • Your preferred currency for business idea estimates.
  • Your acceptance of our Terms of Service (with the date and version), and whether you've chosen to receive marketing emails.
  • If you sign in with Google, the name and email address Google shares with us.

Business planning information you save

  • Saved business ideas and your notes about them.
  • Notes in My Ideas, your business plan answers and your next steps.
  • Calendar tasks and appointments.
  • Your 30-day journey answers and progress, and your weekly check-ins.

Membership information

  • Your free trial and membership status, your plan and price, billing and renewal dates, and whether you hold a Founding Member place.
  • Reference numbers from Stripe that link your account to your subscription, plus basic transaction details such as amount, date, status and billing country.

Technical information

  • A sign-in token kept in your browser's local storage, so you stay signed in. It isn't used for tracking.
  • The date you last used the app, which we use for our inactive account rule (see section 7).
  • Error reports and service logs, which help us keep the app working and secure.
  • Visitor analytics that measure overall traffic, such as pages viewed, traffic sources, country and device type. These use no cookies and aren't linked to your account.

3. How we use your information

  • To provide the app, and to save and sync your work across your devices.
  • To tailor guidance to your country and show estimates in your chosen currency.
  • To manage your free trial, membership, billing, Founding Member eligibility and the one-trial-per-account rule.
  • To send you service emails, such as account confirmation and password reset emails.
  • To answer your questions and give you support.
  • To keep the service secure, prevent misuse and fix problems.
  • To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.

We don't sell your personal information. We don't use your business planning content for advertising, and we don't share it with anyone except the service providers listed below, who need it to run the app.

Marketing emails: we only send tips, news and offers if you choose to receive them, either on the sign-up form or on your Account page. That box is never ticked for you. You can unsubscribe at any time by unticking it under Account → Privacy & your data, or by using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email. We always send essential emails about your account and membership, such as sign-in and billing emails.

4. Payments, Stripe and Link

Payments are handled by Stripe. Membership payments are sold through Link, a Stripe service that acts as the seller (reseller) for the payment transaction. Link collects your payment details and billing information. It also handles tax calculation and collection, receipts, fraud checks, disputes and support for payment questions. When you pay, Link and Stripe handle your information under their own privacy policies: Link Privacy Policy and Stripe Privacy Policy.

We receive only what we need to manage your membership, such as subscription status, plan, amounts and dates. We never receive or store your full card details.

5. Who we share information with

  • Lovable, our app platform, which hosts the app and provides its database, sign-in, account emails, analytics and error reporting.
  • Stripe and Link, for payments, tax, fraud prevention, disputes and payment support.
  • Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google.
  • Professional advisers, such as our accountant or lawyer, where needed.
  • Government or law enforcement bodies, where the law requires it.

Exchange rates for currency conversion come from a public data service. No personal information is sent to it.

6. Storing information overseas

Our database is hosted in Japan. Our service providers, including Stripe and Link, may also process information in the United States, the European Union and other countries. We use well-known providers that protect personal information with strong security and legal safeguards.

To confirm: the hosting region (Japan) and the overseas disclosure wording, as part of legal review.

7. How long we keep information

  • We keep your account and saved work while your account is open, including after a membership ends, so you can pick up where you left off if you return.
  • When you delete your account from your Account page, your account, profile and saved work are deleted straight away.
  • If you ask us by email, we'll verify that the request comes from you and complete it within 30 days.
  • We don't currently delete inactive accounts. In future, we may delete accounts that haven't been used for 24 months. Before we do, we'll email you at least 30 days beforehand, so you can keep your account by signing in. We'll never delete an inactive account without that notice.
  • Some information must be kept even after deletion. Payment and tax records are kept by Stripe and Link, and by us where the law requires (in Australia, generally five years). If you held a paid Founding Member place, an anonymous record of it is kept so the 50-place limit stays accurate.

8. How we protect your information

Information is encrypted while it travels between your device and our servers. Access rules make sure only you can see your saved work. Payment details are handled only by Stripe and Link. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information. If a data breach could seriously harm you, we'll tell you as the law requires.

9. Your choices and rights

  • Access and correction: you can view and update your name, country and currency on your Account page, and edit your saved work at any time.
  • Deletion: delete your account at any time from Account → Privacy & your data → Delete my account, or email us at charlene@evolvebusinessco.com.au.
  • Marketing emails: opt in or out at any time from Account → Privacy & your data.
  • A copy of your information: you can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Objection: you can ask us to stop certain uses of your information.

Depending on where you live, you may have extra rights. For example, people in the European Union and United Kingdom can also ask us to restrict processing or move their data. We use your information because we need it to provide the service you signed up for, because we have a legitimate interest in running and protecting the service, or because the law requires it.

We'll respond to requests within 30 days.

10. Children

The Evolve Business Starter Kit is for adults aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from children.

11. Complaints

If you have a concern, please contact us first at charlene@evolvebusinessco.com.au and we'll do our best to resolve it. If you're not satisfied, you can complain to your local privacy regulator. In Australia, that's the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au). In the European Union or United Kingdom, it's your local data protection authority.

To confirm: whether the Australian Privacy Act applies to your business, and whether to mention it here, as part of legal review.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make important changes, we'll tell you by email or in the app before they take effect. Also see our Terms of Service and Refund & Cancellation Policy.
